Archetypes!!!!!!

Archetypes are used through out movie, books, ect. This week the story of Julius Caesar will be the topic of different types of archetypes that are shown. In this play the three main Archetypes found are symbolic, situational, and character. These archetypes are also found in different movies, and book, and plays because they represent the symbol, character, and situation in these scenes.

Archetype 1: Symbolic;wilderness. The symbolic meaning of wilderness can be related to the town center in Rome. Before the murder of Julius Caesar the town center was a place of happiness where parties were held, and people got together. After Julius Caesar was murdered the town center went from a place of happiness to riots, because the peoples dictator was murdered by the senate. this type of archetype can also remind you of a modern movie such as the hunger games where the capitol was seen as the same thing as Rome. The capitol ended up becoming a war zone for the country of Panem just like Rome.

Archetype 2: Situational;unbearable wounds. The symbolic meaning of of wounds can be related to Caesars wife after his murder. His wife loved him and begged him not to go to the senate meeting that day, because she knew he would die. After his murder she was broken. This can be related to the movie Milk which is about a human rights activist who was murdered and his followers were broke, and thought they lost all hope for equality. These two can show the meaning from old to modern in a symbolic meaning.

Archetype 3: Character; hero. Heroes like Pompeii can be related to a character archetype. Pompeii was a great leader who understood the true meaning of having power. Pompeii was later murdered by corrupt Caesar. This can be related to the movie Miss Sloane. This movie is based on a lobbyist who ended up working for a gun control firm. Her new firm went through a hard time with this case, because she ended up getting charged, but she shocked the whole world by exposing the NRA, and the corrupt senator behind it winning her firm the case even though she was put in federal prison. She was also seen as a hero like Pompeii, because they did something great for their country.

Archetypes are so much beneficial. As you have just read, you understand the importance of archetypes and how to connect them to real world. Analyzing these archetypes is easy to learn and will be so beneficial, because when you watch a movie or read a book you will be able to point out that archetype. Thank You.
